Orphism is a religion that existed in Ancient Greece, emerging in the 5th century BCE and lasting to late antiquity. 

The core tenets of Orphism are:

Every living thing has a mortal body and an immortal Soul.

Souls undergo a process of reincarnation. The purpose of mortal life is to purify the Soul.

When a Soul reaches the afterlife, its purity is assessed. Pure Souls are freed from reincarnation.

Pure & freed Souls ascend in unity to the Gods forever.
